Benham has considerable experience obtaining National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) environmental clearance for highway improvement projects, in compliance with 40 CFR 1500 – 1508. We coordinate with State departments of transportation as well as the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) to ensure that the NEPA environmental clearance process goes smoothly and is completed as quickly as possible.
Depending upon the type of highway improvement proposed, the required NEPA clearance document may be a Categorical Exclusion, Environmental Assessment, or Environmental Impact Statement. Benham has the resources and expertise to conduct the specialist studies and public involvement process necessary to prepare a NEPA document that will meet State and FHWA approval.
