Joint Space Operations Center Consolidation

Project Description

  • Location:
    Vandenberg Air Force Base, California

Benham provided full A/E design and Construction Administration services for the infrastructure and renovation work required to consolidate the Joint Space Operations Center (JSpOC) mission and the associated 14th Air Force (14 AF) and Joint Forces Component Command for Space (JFCC SPACE) into Building 7000 and to relocate the current Building 7000 occupants into Buildings 7015 and 7025 on Vandenberg Air Force Base, CA.

This project was a highly complex, multi-facility, design effort for renovation of three buildings (approximately 300,000 SF) to accommodate reorganization. It included standard facility renovation aspects, and also build-out of SCIF spaces, specialized mission power requirements, and detailed space planning for mission critical space launch tracking systems.  This project was designed to be constructed in two phases.

Phase 1 included the partial renovation of buildings 7015 and 7025.
Phase 2 included the complete renovation (gut rehab) of building 7000.
